Privacy Policy

BeYou Sports is a recruiting platform. Athletes build a profile and share it with college coaches. Most of our athletes are under 18, so we treat their information with the care that deserves. This page says in plain words what we collect, who can see it, and what we will never do with it. Questions go to levi@beyou-sports.com or 850.220.9194.

What we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, birth year, and a password. If you are under 18 we also collect a parent or guardian's name and email, and we record the date and time consent was given.

Profile information. What you choose to put on your recruiting profile: sport, position, class year, school, city, state, height, weight, GPA, season stats, social media handles, and links to your film.

Photos and video. Files you upload to your profile.

Messages. Messages sent between athletes and coaches through the platform are stored so both sides can read them.

Forms on this site. If you fill out a form on our website, we keep what you submit so we can respond.

Usage. We record when accounts sign in. The app keeps you signed in using storage on your own device. The app does not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

To run the service: showing your profile to coaches, delivering messages, and keeping your account working. To help you get value from it: for example reminding you to finish your profile if you stopped partway. And to keep the platform safe. That is the list. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use athlete information for advertising.

Who can see what

A recruiting profile only works if coaches can see it. Be clear about what that means before you build one.

• Your profile, stats, photos, and film are visible to signed in users of the platform, including coaches.
• When you share your profile link, anyone who opens that link can be invited to create a coach account to view your profile.
• Uploaded photos and videos are served from web addresses that are not listed anywhere public, but anyone who has the exact address can open the file. Do not upload anything you would not want a coach to see.
• Messages are private between the sender, the recipient, and for athletes under 18, the parent or guardian on file.
• Your password is never visible to anyone, including us.

Platform staff can access account information to run the service and respond to problems. We use trusted providers to host the platform: Supabase for the database and file storage, Vercel for the website and app, and Google and n8n for handling website form submissions. They store data on our behalf and do not get to use it for themselves.

Athletes under 18

• You must be at least 13 to use BeYou Sports. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we delete it if we learn we have.
• Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent to create an account. We collect the parent's name and email at signup and record when consent was given.
• Messages sent to an athlete under 18 are copied to the parent or guardian on file. A coach should never be surprised by who read their message, and neither should a parent.
• A parent or guardian can review, correct, or delete their child's information at any time by emailing levi@beyou-sports.com from the parent email on file.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your information while your account is active. Delete your account, or ask us to, and your profile, uploads, and messages are removed from the service. Email levi@beyou-sports.com from your account email and we will handle it. Copies in routine backups age out on their own schedule.

Security

Data moves over encrypted connections. Access rules are enforced in the database itself, not just in the app, so an athlete's private information stays private even if someone pokes at the system directly. Website leads are readable by staff only. No system is perfect, but this one was built with minors' information in mind from the first table.

What we will never do

• Sell personal information. Not athletes', not parents', not coaches'.
• Use athlete information to target advertising.
• Share transcripts or grades with anyone except the coaches you choose to reach.
• Hide what a subscription costs or make it hard to cancel.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and note the new date at the top. For big changes affecting athletes under 18, we will email the parent on file.
